A Look at Recent Polls
May 14, 2012 · 10:40 pm

The MSM has been in full distraction mode as of late. Here’s a timeline of the headline national stories over the past few months:

Early February – Contraception mandate/Fluke/Limbaugh
Mid March – Trayvon Martin
Mid April – “War on Women”
Early May – Gay Marriage
Mid May – Romney is a bully

Obviously, Obama can’t run on his record, so he has to run on something else while distracting from his record. However, a new CBS/NY Times poll (wow, shocking) has shown that his plans have backfired.

Here’s the poll.

Overall and Gay Marriage

Romney is up 46-43 from last month, a 46-46 tie. 23% say Romney’s position on gay marriage makes it more likely to vote for him while 25% say Obama’s stance makes them less likely to vote for Obama.

Women and Independents

Here’s where the war on women backfired: Romney’s up 46-44 for women voters. He’s up 43-36 for independents, a very important statistic in this election.

Why Obama Supported Same-Sex Marriage

Voters think 67-24% that Obama publicly supported same-sex marriage for political reasons, not morally, respectively. It’s 70-20 among independents.

Constituional Amendment Making Marriage Male-Female Exclusive

The public supports it 50-46(47 among independents), although 57% say states should decide.

Top Issue

Up to 62%, it’s still the economy, stupid. People say 67-32% that the economy’s still bad, and 39% say it’s staying the same.

If Romney can continue to drive the national debates, he should have a much easier time defeating Barack Obama.

It's slowly slipping away from him, inch by inch, and nothing he does will distract the people from the facts that the economy is falling apart, and he has totaly ignored the sanctity of the US Constitution.

One poll doesn't tell you anything. Obama still leads Romney by 1.4 according to the RCP average. The economy is improving daily and he most certainly can run on his record. This election is going to be a painful experience for you guys if you don't start accepting reality. Exactly what debate is Romney driving?

Gee HB I guess one poll doesn't tell you anything! As for the economy improving daily... you better sit down and have another glass of koolaid buddy, we got some bad news for you!! The part about Obama being able to run on his record was quite humorous though!!

Quote:The economy is improving daily and he most certainly can run on his record....HB, if the economy is improving daily, how come there are still people getting kicked out of their homes due to repossession, and unemployment benefits have been extended to 99 weeks (just short of two years) ??? Obama's "Record" is broken and in a positive vein, non-existent...His actual "Record" is so shoddy that even his supporters can't come up with real positives for which he has been responsible...Even his campaign promises are, for the most part, unfulfilled...(I'm happy for that since most of them go against my grain)

I predict this election to be the biggest smack down a sitting president has seen for a long time.
Had he spent his time trying to take care of the nation's business, rather than instituting his radical socialist agenda, we might be on the road to recovery.
Istead of doing their constitutional duties, the current band of plunderers has spent money at a rate unprecedented in the history of the world.
The economy is trying to improve in spite of, not because of, anything the current administration has done. It's a testimony to the dedication of the people who actually work and are productive members of our society.
I truly think the responsible, working members of this society, who actually get out of bed and go to work and pay taxes, are fed up with the over spending, give aways and daily intrusions into our lives by the federal government.
This statement is not written by a republican or a democrat, but rather a citizen who thinks the feds should fight our wars, protect our borders build the interstate highways, deliver the mail and stay out of our way.

Well HB, I'll give you credit for one thing, you're predictable. You continue to follow the liberal trend of sticking your head in the sand and ignoring reality. If I can't see them, they can't see me. The only pain we will feel in November will be that willard is not the Conservative we had hoped for, but, ABO will do. I'm glad that zero is so arrogant that he is running on his record. Every day fewer and fewer people are buying it. Heck there are black people leaving him over his faggot agenda. This is shaping up to be a rout, and even Jimmah Carter is pleased to add someone to the list of worst Presidents higher than himself. This will be an extremely enjoyable spanking handed to your boy.

And you will get a good tongue lashing the day after the election.

HB, I would welcome Obama running on his record. It would only accomplish two things:

1) Appealing to his committed leftist base of about 25-30% of voters;
2) Remind the other 70-75% of voters of very many excellent reasons to boot his butt so far out of office that the ground upon which he finally lands is on one of Jupiter's moons (I wish!).

I am, however, glad that your nurses take off your straight jacket and let you play on a computer for a few minutes of the day. Mustn't keep all those insane delusions bottled up inside.

Sweatybetty, sorry to hear you are out of work. I am in a similar situation for 6 weeks now, and not much in the way of available things I can do. Yep, the economy is just humming along....

Seems like we heard similar hollow confidence from Rimmy before the congressional bloodbath. He/she has been a hermit ever since, I guess we'll see how it plays out.

The only chance Capt'n Zero has is if he sets up an election booth down on the border and offers free admission..... but lets not give him any ideas.

I will say it does crack me up to hear gun owners and sportsman supporting him........give him another chance [beeep] take your guns.
