Character Counts

While I have not kept it a secret that Mitt Romney was not my first choice for GOP nomination, he is so far above the anointed one that there is no comparison.

Received this in an e.mail this morning and verified it and read more details @ the link @ bottom of page. His stock just went up a click or two in my book. I don't recall reading anywhere that zero put in any time for free, do you?

This uplifting story is totally true. So good to hear a positive story about a candidate since the media takes delight in scraping up every negative thing they can to broadcast about conservatives.
Yep, character does matter, and what we have been hearing in the
media recently has been quite shocking. I thought you might like to
see another side of one of the candidates. It appears there is more
to the Bain Capital story than is being told, so I hope this story
below is informative.

Romney's character.... This facet of Romney's personality isn't so subtle. In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was.Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay's daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia
Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search.
He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort
with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his
friend's missing daughter.Romney's accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could -prostitutes, drug addicts - anyone.

That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos
of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a
teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The NYPD traced the call to a house in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing
withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day.

Romney's former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his
daughter's life, saying, "It was the most amazing thing, and I'll
never forget this to the day I die."
So, here's my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can't help himself. He
sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it,
sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously. He doesn't do it for self-aggrandizement, or for personal gain. He does it
because that's just how he's wired.
Many people are unaware of the fact that when Romney was asked by his old employer, Bill Bain, to come back to Bain & Company as CEO to rescue the firm from bankruptcy, Romney left Bain Capital to work at Bain & Company for an annual salary of one dollar.
When Romney went to the rescue of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, he accepted no salary for three years, and would not use an expense
account. He also accepted no salary as Governor of Massachusetts.
Character counts!! (and yes...that's worth reading again!)

It's nice to hear something positive about one of the candidates for a change.

He is an honorable man, no doubt about it. He wouldn't have been my first choice but it's time to support him all the way. Consider the alternative. It's really ironic that the libs are all criticizing the way he spends his money, all the while zero is spending ours.

One newscast I heard the other day was putting down the media for criticizing Romney's having money to begin with, and how he spends it secondly. The report went on to name several former candidates and former presidents who likewise had much money. The Kennedy family amongst those mentioned. The reporter stated there were 2 things clearly evident in looking at this situation, 1.) Most former presidents and candidates that had a great deal of wealth, were Democrats, and... 2.) The others found on his list all had inherited family money, whereas Romney had worked for all of his!

Well maybe you can help him find a job he is good at.He is not good at the one he has now.If he loves this country like he says, for the good of the country he should step down before he makes a blunder we can not come back from. His comment to the Russians should have told you all you need to know. They play for keeps.

Obama saved this country and saved the American car industry while he was at it. No thanks necessary. Barack is a foreign policy guru compared to the shenanigans of the previous administration. The troops are out of Iraq and Bin Laden is at the bottom of the ocean. Mission accomplished.

You gotta be kiddin', HB. He took a lot of retired folks retirement investment plans (read GM bonds) and gave the company to his supporters (read labor unions) after taking billions of dollars from the taxpayers to bail out the company. And what did we get in return, the Chevy Volt!

Mission Accomplished one day, according to the WH staff claiming all or most alqaeda had been killed but next day a terrorist alert issued by homeland security stating alqaeda may be planning an attack on US on aniversary of Benladen's death. Which is it?

Limbaugh claims Obama can't run on his record. Oxycontin alters the users reality. The economy is recovering, GM is making record profits, and Bin Laden is graveyard dead. I look forward to a heated general election. May the best man win.

HB the problem with Obama is that he'd "tell" you he has good character.

Romney not so, his actions speak volumes for his character. While I am not 100% supporter of Romney and some of his past actions as Gov of MA...BHO Can not withstand a character comparison to Romney.

Besides, Obama ate the dog, Romeny crated the dog.

HB you seem to know a lot more about oboma than I do so why did he forbid,in the very begining the use of his middle name? I am sure I am wrong but I thought that he must have thought it reminded people to much of his background, heritage and that he has to many ties to muslums.

I can certainly understand Limbaugh's position on that matter...

Obama Lies....

Obama Failures...

And since you mention the GM bailout like it's a grand accomplishment...

Quote:General Motors Bail Out & Take Over;

Sadly Obama is calling this a "Victory", but it is NOT!

On 5-29-09, with General Motors nearing bankruptcy, the GM stock price hit a 71-year low of 75 cents per share. That put the market capitalization of General Motors at less than a half-billion dollars.

President Obama came to the rescue with a $60 billion bailout. As of today, despite the infusion of $60 billion into GM, the company's market capitalization is just $38 billion and Obama is claiming victory! That would be the same as buying a "fixer-upper" house for $5,000, pumping $600,000 into the house and selling the house for $380,000 -- while claiming the whole episode a financial success!!

More on Obama Failures!

And, be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page where you will find...

Quote:
56. And of course the failure of the American Electorate to actually vote for such a fool.

This quote says a lot:

"America is on the verge of destruction. There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president"

From: PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF OBAMA

Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic . Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

And this quote:

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.." -- Winston Churchill

And, way down at the bottom of the page is a "Who is the worst President in US History?" poll.

Want to guess who's running away with that title HB?

7 billion is a fair profit. I like the chances of Barack winning a second term. Even more important are the Congressional elections.

I think you are going to be sad and surprised HB when the election turns out to be a landslide for Romney. While I agree that Congressional elections are important also, they don't appoint SCOTUS judges who make make life miserable when chosen incorrectly. Unlike you, many of your long serving Congress critters see the handwriting on the wall and are packing it in to save face from the coming storm. I predict a rout.

And as well, I'm quite surprised to hear a dyed in the wool lib break ranks and claim that any profit at all is fair. Maybe we are having an effect after all, lol.
