Bathing Coyote

I was drivng into town yesterday, and looked out across my neighbors pasture. The pasture is full of cattle and theres a pond in the middle. I could see something lying in the water a few feet from the bank, but couldn't make out what it was. I grabbed my binoculars, and it was a large coyote just lying there in the water watching the cattle. The temperature was around 100 degrees, and I suppose he was just cooling off. Thats a first for me. He sat there cooling off for 10 to 15 minutes. I just wish I would have had my camera, and my rifle. My wife and son took turns with the binos. We all thought it was a strange thing to see. Has anyone else ever seen this before?

Fox are known to get nose-deep in water to rid themselves of fleas and other tag-alongs. I imagine a coyote will do the same, not to mention a simple cool-down.
