Serial number question

I have a 22 winchester model 67 and can not find the serial number. This little gun is about the simplest piece I own and there are only so many places to look for the number. I took the barrel off and found nothing. Any hints?

Just bought a JC Higgins model 30 .22 a couple weeks ago that has no serial number.

Likewise had a Marlin model 60 .22 years ago that didn't have one.

Serial numbers weren't required until 1968 and a lot of the less expensive or short term manufacturers didn't want to spend the extra money to stamp them...

Just as Rocky's J C Higgens was made by a major company for Sears, it allowed them to produce then a little cheaper...

Items that were produced for potential government contracts were usually serial numbered, but a lot of civilian market items were left blank...

The only 67's that had numbers with exported out of the USA.
If it has a chrome trigger it was made before WWII. Finger grove stocks were made 1934-35. I have 67a, Boy Scout rifle. It has a Lyman 57ES rear sight and globe front, made in the early 60's. Hope this help's
