I wasn't talking about nicking him while on a coyote. If while on a coyote, I want them to be on it until I call him off of it. What I was trying to say that if while I'm on a stand and the dog is barking while I an calling.....I wouldn't like that.
Shocking callers are a great tool, but if used too much your dog won't hunt much at all, out of fear of getting zapped.
I watch the coyotes reaction to the dog, if a coyote boogers while the dog is going out to engage it, I will tone him back. Most of the time, once I have toned the dog back to me, the coyote will be on his heels trying to run him off. I hope this clear up any confusion on what I had said earlier.
