I was luky enough to draw a Colorado elk tag
for the muzzle load season coming in September. Is it possible to hunt predators during this season? We will be going to an area near Steamboat Springs. Can one use electronic calls for coyotes? I am a resident of Nevada, and we can hunt them year round without even a hunting lic.Any info would be appreciated.

Coyote hunting is year round, your hunting license for Elk may cover it or you could add Small game which I know covers it. Calls both hand and electronic are allowed for predators, no night hunting.

Where are you in Reno, I am very familiar with the area having lived there for 4 years and my wife having been born and raised there.

Any more questions I can help you with just e-mail daverichards64@yahoo.com

First heres a link to Colo DOW site.

You will need either a small game or furbearer license to hunt coyotes.

Non resident small game is about 40 bucks. The nonresident furbearer is 200 bucks.

No limit and no season on coyotes. Foxes and cats and badgers do have a season.

You will also need to register for HIP.

Also colorado has some funky muzzleloading laws. No breech loading, no sabots, no scopes,no pellets.

You can use an electric call on coyotes but NOT on any big game. That is elk, bear, lions etc.

You are allowed to call at night in colorado as long as it is on private property. If you want to call at night on public property you will need to get a permit from the dow.

ACCURIZEIT,
I'm going to move your topic over to the Predator forum where more people will see it. Welcome to Predator Masters!
