I braved the frosty morning and slipped into a new area with Pearl and Ellie Mae. The picture below shows the view from our stand.
I called a female coyote from the ridge to the right with coyote howls and pup frenzy. She was very vocal! She eventually came to where the red x is but retreated to the blue x when the girls engaged her. They were slowed by the thick dozer deck to our front and could not reach her as she beat a hasty retreat to the blue x where she halted to observe Pearl and Ellie Mae and I shot her at 271 yards. Not classic decoy dog work but good enough.
