best beaver lure

what do you think is the best lure for beavers?

I have been very very happy with Bucktooth From Grandpa Jake Lures. It has not let me down. His Sweet Tooth has been a very good change up lure for ADc work for me.

Anything with Castor. I've had good luck with Caven's Timber and Dobbin's Backbreaker.

I have had my best luck with castor. I have tried other lures and not caught anything with them.

i was in Gander Mtn today and found some Caven's "Timber" but it didn't say castor on the bottle. Is that Castor? I did buy it.

Usually unless beaver lures say food lure right on it they have castor in them. Or you could just pop the lid and smell it?????

I'm not a beaver trapper by any means but I did some control work on some nuisance beaver for a rancher and I used John Grahams Cache Creek. It must be good lure! I was able to leghold 6 beaver out of one colony.

You pro beaver guys can laugh at me if you want to for this but it did work. I took some fish oil that I use in making my bobcat lure and poured a little above my trap and let some run down into the creek. As I was pulling out of there I watched a beaver actually swim a straight line to my set and get caught.
