Browning White Gold Medallion

So my dad has been wanting one of these rifles in 270 WIN for a long time. With his birthday and christmas coming up I've been thinking bout buying one for him. Over the years hes taught me alot bout hunting, fishing, the meaning of being good hand when it comes to working. Pretty much making the man who I am today and I owe him alot for it. Not that one gun will ever amount to what hes did for me over the years but it sure wont hurt in showing my graditude. Anyways up till bout 5 mins ago I thought it was either an A-bolt Medallion or a X-bolt Medallion or White gold. I didnt know browning had a White gold medallion rifle. Been looking at them for that past few minutes on the internet and had a few questions bout them.

1. Do all the White Gold Medallions have the octagon barrel or is it just the A-bolt models?

2. Is Browning still making this praticular model of the A-bolt and or X-bolt?

This is an A-Bolt WGM in 270 Win. Round barrel. Great wood, poor design, IMO. I just could not come to like it. I sold it:
