I want to replace the bottom trigger guard on my Bushmaster lower with a RRA winter trigger guard. The front pin holding it is spring loaded- no problem. However, before I damage the rear pin what is the secret of removing then reusing the rear pin?
Just use a punch and knock it out. They're usually pretty tight.
Be careful when doing that... Support the bottom "ear" of the lower receiver. I've seen pics of guys that broke them off either removing or installing that pin. Put a block of wood or dowel or something under that while hammering.
Just to stress again, support that thing from the back side or it WILL BREAK.
I also slip magazine cover material between the gaps so nothing gets stressed.
