What is the differance between a standard chamber, say a .243 and an Ackley Improved. I know absolutely Zero about an AI chamber. Can't be a whole lot but some as it is improved. I'm Confused.

Shoulder is blown out to 40 degrees and usually all but one degree of taper in the case. More powder and less case growth and a sexy looking bullet!!
 
Depending on the gun the AI shoulder can cause issues chambering.
The AI line does not have nearly as much case stretching or the need to be trimmed over the standard base case.
 
Less trimming is a good thing.

I used to have some info regarding what cases benefit the most from AI-ing them. It also stated the percentage of the increase. Damned if I can find it.....
