I was just thinking the other day about how no one offered a 22-250 AR. Mighta just found my Christmas present.
Though I'd much rather see it with a skeleton stock vs. the A2. How customizable will these be?

My knee jerk reaction was also "why 1 in 14"? As I think about it however, the 22-250 and 55grn bullets are THE perfect combination. Aside from shooting 150lb+ game or at match ranges, there isn't need for more.

With the longer mag well, factory wssm ammo would work just fine right? Might have to get that 25 wssm for the wife

I have not been able to jump on to the AR bandwagon up to this point. I'm afraid this could entice me over to the DARKSIDE! We will see!

Very nice Olympic Arms. I'd jump on one of those. But I have one of your 243WSSM AR's. Best long range coyote thumper I ever owned.

Could you use a standard lower for this? No, The mag well is to short and the round wont fit in it. With the longer mag well, factory wssm ammo would work just fine right? The longer factory rounds should fit just fine. The shorter wssm rounds are already in use in some of our other models. Though I'd much rather see it with a skeleton stock vs. the A2. How customizable will these be? There are four Factory options offered that we don't consider accessories (Optics, Bipods, etc.). Barrel Fluting Ace Stock CCM Trigger Bipod Mount (BPM) Why the 1:14 in the .224 calibers? We tested the 1:10 and the MOA was not what we were hoping for. We are getting a more desirable result at the 1:14. We Offer the .223 WSSM in three different twists for your preference(1:14, 1:8, 1:10). However we only offer the 22-250 in 1:14.

Olympic,
So with this lower you could run alot longer COAL with our .243wssm for longer VLD bullets? Instead of modifiying mags.

Well some guys running the .243wssm and shooting the 105 A-Max and 105 VLD bullets have been notching out the front of Pmags to give them a longer Mag length over the standard 2.260 OAL

Is Oly going to sell the lowers for these rifles? I have one of Mike's (Dtech) 243 WSSM uppers and would love to be able to load VLD's and not have to worry about squeezing them into the mag.

Wow too bad I just bought a 22-250 bolt gun a couple months ago and just recently got a 1911 so I'm going to pass on this one. I think I would get one in 243 (maybe), make it a long range shooter. But still looks and sounds pretty awesome!

How much are the uppers going to run? It will accept any MIL SPEC Upper receiver, so the WSSM/OSSM uppers that are already available on the market will work on this lower. The Lower really is the key to this firearm not the upper. If you're looking for a 22-250 upper it won't work on any lower receiver other than this one. Being as this is the only lower the 22-250 can function on we have yet to determine a price for just a complete 22-250 upper receiver.

YIPPY SKIPPY !!!!!! I have been waiting on this for years!!! I love the 22-250 round. I have a Rem VSF Heavy barrel and a Kimber 24"fluted barrel ( forget model). My question is I have a Colt AR Match grade 16 post ban but this top in 22-250 will not fit it right??? If so I guess I am going to have to sell some stuff to afford this baby!!!!!!! Could we see a pic of the mags. And is the col for the 22-250 also 2.42. Thanks Pete The 22-250 Remington COL is listed at 2.35"...So 2.42" should give some room for seating long in a long throat. I would be excited to see a 6mm International, too. This could open some new doors for the AR-15. Squeeze

What is the weight of this in 22-250? Of course as shown, minus optics. Need one so the son can tag along. And wait time on one ordered? They just look WAY to NICE to pass up an AR so here I go !!

If I remember right the one in the picture weighs about 13.75 lbs. The stock model weighs in at approx 9.4 lbs and is 42.5" long. Currently the wait time should be fairly short as we have been building up a stockpile of parts for these.

Curious on what just a lower will run with mag. Just got quoted $206 for the stripped lower & bolt latch. Mag's are seperate at about $100 Ouch! not sure If I should bite the bullet to shoot these VLD's or just build a custom bolt gun.

Curious on what just a lower will run with mag. Just got quoted $206 for the stripped lower & bolt latch. Mag's are seperate at about $100 Ouch! not sure If I should bite the bullet to shoot these VLD's or just build a custom bolt gun. The main reason the magazines are currently so expensive is that they are billet magazines. We are working on having an extrusion made so it will reduce the price.

I told a friend of mine about these and he now has one. He has run a few mags thru it so far and he said it functioned perfectly. I will post up more info as I get it.

Is there going to be a shorter barrel version? Who wants to lug around a 24" heavy barrel. Thanks If you really have to have one, just have the barrel shortened and recrowned.

I want one in 6mm-250 with a 1:8 twist barrel that will handle the 107 grain bullets. Would make a great long range AR.

Interesting that results were not good with the faster twists. Possibly having to seat bullets to deep ?
1/14 twist would be a no go for me otherwise, I would want one.
I did like the 22 WSSM from Oly....shot very well and would handle the heavier bullets. I sold it, but it was a shooter.
Some day make it in the faster twist and you will have something. 1/14 is just to dam slow for good all around.

I love the idea but I won't lug a heavy barrel. Been there done that. Give me a light 22 inch barrel-lose the rails on the handguard and I will buy one tomorrow. I want to buy a light walking around calling rifle not buy something I have to modify. Just my thoughts.

The current wait time is 2-4 weeks but this would extend that while we are waiting for the 22" barrel to be made.

I was interested in the 6/250 or 6mm international until some research revealed that the 6/250 has some case stretching issues. The ackley treatment fixes that, but then you are still left with a 243'esque neck which is pretty short for the long bullets and causes you to have to crowd your powder space. For the 80-90 gr bullets I would think it would do nicely though, but if I wanted to run the 107's i would look into the 6xc by david tubb. The 6xc has the shoulder pushed back a bit, and a 30 degree shoulder; though the straight wall may not lend itself to an auto loader very well. Ymmv, i have no first hand experience with either of these rounds, just what i have read....on the internet, so it must be true. There are serveral different versions of the 6 INT out there. I think any of the VLD bullets would be very tough to make work, I personally looking at other cases like the 47mm lapua.

Got any other barrels other than the stainless? Or can it be powder coated to eliminate the shine.

What would be the price of one with a 22" Brl?
Is it the same or would it cost more?
