I was going to load up some 100 grain Nosler Partition bullets for my savage 243. I went to the Nosler site and they listed the 4831 with around 42 grains. Ive read where alot of folks like the 4350 with the heavier bullets for the 243. I was wondering if anyone had any wxperience with these powders with the 100 grain bullet. Thanks

If your gun doesn't like IMR4064 try Varget. They have the exact same burn rate and the techs at Hodgdon (which also makes IMR and Winchester powders) have told me that IMR4064 and Varget are pretty much interchangeable. I have two .243's one loves IMR4064 and hates Varget and vice versa...

42.3 gr of IMR 4350 is the overall best load with 100 gr bullets in the 243 I have ever used. I have used about every powder suitable for sticking in a 243 case.

I like it with 100 gr. SGKs for deer. My bud took a yote with this load last year. DRT. Extremely accurate. One shot kills is the norm.

I believe Ackleyman runs the same exact load with 100 gr. Hornadys, and swears by it also......
