Gun safes?

What are your thoughts on the fire ratings for gun safes? I am trying to decided on a Liberty Franklin Model(82000 BTU, 1200*/1hr fire rating) or the Lincoln model(95,000BTU, 1200*/1.5hrs). The price difference is about $400.00 more for the Lincoln. Do you think the Lincoln is worth the extra cash? Anybody have personal knowledge of a gun safe in a house fire?

I have fixed some fire gun and both times the fire lasted longer than 1.5 hrs
both burnt for over 5 hrs
my thoughts are liberty is cheaper but it dont matter what safe you buy most fires last too long !!!!
save 400 buck and buy the liberty

I happen to have a Liberty Franklin. Bought it back around 94 or 95, I think.

From what I've read, most single story home fires you need 30 minutes protection. If you're on the ground floor of a 2 story home you need more. I'm thinking that most people will be fine with a 1 hr burn rating, but I also think there's nothing wrong with having too much protection if you can afford it.

It's a calculated guess.
