Bobcat called 3-5-11

I was hunting in Lamar county Texas but you would have thought
it was central Oklahoma the way the wind was blowing. I got
started just hoping to find a few animals hungy enough to
come without working the wind. It was so windy that I wasn't
sure the sound was getting far so I just focused on medium to
small thickets hoping to get a shot or two. I had settled in
against a large tree at the edge of a drainage

Over looking a small brush pile on the edge of a 5 acre or so
thicket. I called for about 15 minutes before she slipped
into view on the woods edge, after a few minutes she seemed
to decided the racket she was hearing had to be coming from
that brush pile.

I watched as she made her approach never checking wind only
focusing on the brush pile looking oh so intently for the
bird doing all the squealling. I lined her up with the
crosshairs in the scope as she came around the corner not
much more than 20 yards away, that's when she saw me and
new smomething wasn't quite right. It was too late .........Bam and down she went.

I made a total of 9 stands Saturday called two Coyotes that
never gave me a chance in the wind and this Bobcat.

Thanks Guys ..........

That will pretty much do it for Bobcats this season
they start having kittens in late April and May. We
have to leave some for next season.
