I have 3 coyotes in the freezer. I dont know if im going to get enough to warrent the expense of buying a fleshing beam.Id like to try and put up some coyote fur.Does any one use any thing besides a wooden beam.I thought I read some where about PVC pipe. How would that work? Any other suggestions?

Here's an old pic of mine bosco.
They work nice but if you have intentions of going with a wooden beam in the future it'd be to your best interest to start with one.

The PVC beams are much more curved allowing precision swipes with your fleshing knife. You can shave or flesh a half inch wide swath if you choose to, but there's no room for error with so much knife pressure on such a small area of the hide.
Wooden beams are wider and flatter which provides a wider area under your knife when fleshing which also lessons your chances of cutting through the skin.

That's an 8" piece of PVC.
I have another one about 2 foot long mounted on a table thats 3 1/2 inch diameter.

Yea, slip the hide over it so it goes inside a tubed skin, or lay the whole thing on top.
