Just bought a T/C Prohunter barrel for my encore and have toyed with the idea of trying a 62gr. Barnes Varmint Gernade out of it. The Barnes box says only 1:10 and faster. I cant seem to find reliable information on the twist rate. Some say it's 1:12 and others say 1:10. Does anyone know for sure, Contacted T/C direct? I was on hold for way too long and had to disconnect with them before I could ask.

Best thing to do is check it your self.
I once bought a gun that was advertised with a specific twist rate that turned out to an early run that "inadvertantly got out the door" with the wrong barrel. It still shot good, but I'd planned to AI it and use heavier/longer bullets and she wouldn't stabelize them with the slower twist. Another member here now owns it and he's quite happy that it didn't work out for me. LOL
Mark a piece of tape on a cleaning rod and see how far she travels when making one full revolution.
So easy an old carpenter can do it.
