Anyone use a electric Ph tester?

I was thinking that I may order one of these tonight from rittles. I see that there are Ph calibration solutions so I assume you must calibrate the electric ones every so offten, if so how often? Does it make sense for a do it yourselfer to get this over buying the differnt Ph papers or should I just order someother stuff as well to get the $20 order minimum? Thanks James

I think they are a gimmick, Pangborn. But that is just my opinion.
I wouldn't have the time to be continuously
calibrating it. And I doubt it's any where near as accurate as good PH strips.

If it comes off your keyboard then I have to agree, you have far to much knowledge for me to disagree so I will just go with some strips, and a few other odds and ends.

I am a biology professor and can attest that these devices work and work well. You are also correct in realizing that they need to be calibrated for every session. I do not know what make and model you are looking at, but as you can expect quality to vary directly with cost. In the lab to test one or two solution I use papers. We only break out the pH meter if there are many samples to testor we need an extremely accurate reading. Hope this helps
