What I need to know is how to get the blood out of the pelt ?
Do I soak it in water or is there another way to do it?
Anybody have any thoughts on fleas this time of year I saw some bugs come of the pelt when I was fleshing it
I always thought that the cold weather took care of them
I live in Wisconsin and the day I shot it it was
-4
Also how far do I flesh it out do I need to get it all the way past the membrane stuff or am I wasteing my time.I want to tan it and have a rug made...

Congrats on the Fox White Eagle!

You can get the blood out of the fur by washing it in cool water with some mild dish soap. You don't want to soak it for any lengthy amount of time due to it's raw state. Wash it good, rinse it better, and hang it to dry.

The fleas shouldn't be a problem as long as your not skinning it with your pet laying along side you. They normally begin leaving the skin as soon as it start to cool, so there shouldn't be many fleas left if your to fleshing already.

You won't need to flesh past the membrane if your going to store the hide until your ready to tan.
The membrane will need to come off before you tan if your tanning it yourself.

Hope that helps.
