what licenses or permits do i need to hunt coyotes in illinois?

You can find the Illinois Regulation book here. Pretty sure what you need is your hunting license, habitat stamp, and foid card if you are shooting them outside of the Shotgun deer season. If you are hunting them during the shotgun season, you need a valid deer permit (thats the only way you can carry a gun during that time). Check it out, should all be there.

i am still a little confused what is a habitat stamp?

It's a way to make money. Be careful during the up coming youth deer season in Jan, in that you can hunt coyote with a centerfire rifle but you must wear the orange vest like you would have to wear if you were a deer hunter. Checked this out with the DNR because the reg's don't say that you can not hunt at that time. They had to look it up after I ask the question about hunting at that time.

habitat stamp is a stamp that is automatically put on your license or i think you can still get the actual stamp if you request it or send in for it (some people collect these) but like state above.... its just a way for them to make more money. Usually around 5 dollars or so. But yep.. just need hunting license and habitat stamp

Yep that's it and you can hunt them year round. Last day at work for me for a month I'm hopin to get out there and get one while I'm off. Life has become too busy. Next year I'm gonna have to give tony a visit down in NM
