When I started trapping this year for the first time ever, I tried some box traps for coons and did not have much luck with them, so I got some snares and set them up. Caught my first coon in a snare at a drain pipe, so I reset another snare at that pipe and this past weekend I caught another coon at that pipe. Went yesterday and checked my snares again, and this time I caught a big boar coon at a fence crossing. I really enjoy using the snares, and this weekend I'm going to set some more and see if maybe I can't up the number of raccoons. Right now I only have about 8 snares set out.
I just hope it doesn't rain on Sat.
