I too have a rescue pigeon named "Uncle Gary" (randomly chosen name). How about "Slater"? Kinda reminds me of the color of slate. I like "Clay" as well.

I asked my daughter and she thought Pepper would be good or Salt&Pepper beacause it looks like he is sprinkled in Salt&Pepper or Pepper.

All the suggestions are good. Even Lunch, Snack, Appy (for appetizer), Target, Skeet...
