I am having a little trouble finding loading data for Hornady .224 75 grain bthp in 223 rem. My reloading manuals are older and dont list heavy bullets in 22 bore. I have H322 and AA2230 powders on hand. Feel free to PM me with load data if you dont feel like posting it.
Thanks

You will need a slightly slower powder then those. Good powders are RL15, Varget, H4895, 748, and TAC. Good shooting loads for me are 24.1 grains of RL15 and 23.9 of Varget which I got from 6BR.com and they work great.

Either of you guys ever try 69 SMK's out of a 1:8?

Sorry, don't have any info on the 75's. I have a Sierra Reloading Manual on my Christmas list though!

No 69s yet. I reload for a 1 in 12 and a 1 in 8 twist barrels. The heaviest I have loaded before now is Winchester 64 grain semi-pointed. I have been wanting to try a heavy bullet in the one in eight rifle for two years now but only now have moved foreward since it shoots 55 grain bullets quite well.
I ordered the 75s and they will be delivered on Monday. I started looking up loads for them and realized that I didn't have any.
Thanks

My go-to load for the 75gr Hrdy BTHP's is:

23.9gr Varget, Lake City brass, 2.25" OAL, Rem 7 1/2 benchrest primers, 1:7.7 twist rate, 24" barrel, AR Platform, 2800 fPS.

Tried many other bullet and powder combinations, nothing beat this one. Sub 1/2 moa accuracy, stabil and supersonic past 1000 yards.

I know this is A REALLY OLD THREAD!!! The catch is that I'm at work with a lot of down time so I'm necroposting again. My goto load ( when I can find the powder) for 77/75 class bullets is 25.2 grains of AA2520. My 20" RRA Predator pursuit will put 10 shots into group smaller than a quarter at 100 yards. I don't have a chronograph but according to the JBM website my estimated MV is 2750. I can get to 600 yards in one turn for paper punching, and at 300 and less it thumps coyotes like a hammer.
