Yesterdays permit pheasant season opened out here, 2 pals from work & I limited out in 3hrs with 9 birds.
This is an early by permit season only that we have to apply for in August. Regular season opens Nov. 1st. Its all run by the DFG. It was windy at 10-25 mph all day.
My Beagle surprised me by finding 3 of our dropped birds in the tall grass as well as put up 3 rabbits for me. All I could see most of the time was the tip of his white tail in the grasses like a shark fin...nice to have a small dog that loves to get into the brush also. Me on the left.
On top of that we kicked up 14 Turkeys in the tall grasses near the woods. Others we talked to saw 20-30 turkeys out there. The DFG said they started to show up 3 yrs ago and have exploded and have not planted them to begin with.
See I hunt other game besides just coyotes!.....
