Reloading for an AR-15?

I use 24.0 grains of h335 and 50 grain remington plhp's and get 1/4" groups. If you need more h335,hi-techammo.com has surplus for 99.00 for 8#'s . If you can do a buy with a few friends and buy 4 canisters they will waive the haz mat.It works great and clean burning. R-15 is a very dirty powder and is more suited for bolt guns.

In the Sierra manual the reason the charge weights of powder are higher then the typical 223 Remington is they are shooting it out of a Colt LE6920 which is an offshoot of the military M4 Carbine which is a 5.56x45mm Nato chambering which has a higher SAMMI spec then 223 remington and it is throated out further to shoot longer bullets also reducing the chamber pressure a bit.

With a 24" HBAR w/ 1-8 try 55gr VMax and 25.5 gr of IMR 8208XBR That shoots .5 at 100 out of almost every AR at our range that uses that load (over 20).

TAC works for me.. And 50 Grain Vmax or the best group to date is with a REM 7-1/2 primer, TAC and 52 grain Sierra HPBT match bullets..
