I have heard yes and no on this. You can look for wear I guess.
A Dentist tried to explain about sectioning a tooth and counting rings or something similar to a tree's ring and years, but it went over my head or I just plain forgot. Sorry I couldn't help you more.
Tooth wear is a good estimate of age up to 2 years old. After that, cementum analysis is the most accurate. That requires removing an incisor and having it sectioned in a lab. Here is a website describing how cementum analysis is done on a deer, but the process is the same on any animal.
I believe that graph to be pretty accurate. However, the schematic of a "yearling". Their canine "fangs", are pointed like a new dagger, not slightly rounded.
