Seems everywhere I go no one wants to admit reloading for their AR in .243.

I have the LR243 from DPMS with a crappy 1:10 twist that im looking for some good loads with.

Does anyone have any load info they care to share for the .243 with a 1:10 twist?

Thanks,
Joey

100 sierra spitzer prohunter on top of 34.2 h4895 with a cci 250 mag primer...always sub MOA in my 10 twist.

I have several loads, what weight bullet are you interested in?The best groups for me are a 58g VMax with 43g IMR4064 Remington Brass Remington LR primer and col of 2.625" This is out of a Remington R25 1/10 twist .243 Winchester.

Nothing crappy about a 10" twist. I shoot several different 70gr bullets - some of them are pretty long - through a 13" twist .243AI and they're very accurate.

I use a 70 Nosler BT in front of Varget in my 243. My brother likes IMR 4064 in his with Sierra 85 HPBT's. He pretty much used 4064 on everything it seems.

Far as I'm concerned the 1x10 is one of the best twists for the 243. My R25 shot 70gr TNT's with 40 grains of Varget MOA and Under most of the time.

I have to agree that the 1 in 10 inch twist is the most versatile. Anything faster and you are pretty much relegating your barrel for heavyweights only. I shoot 7o grain sierra blitzkings out of mine with Varget behind it. If I go heavier I shoot Berger 90 Grain Match Bt's with H4350 behind them and life is good. With an AR 10 platform you couldn't seat the heavier bullets that far out into the rifling anyway because the cartridges need to fit in the Magazine. So the 105 match bullets are out of the question unless you wanted to single load your gun and throat your barrel out to shoot them. Here is my favorite coyote load. I would back off a bit just because this was worked up in a bolt rifle and not a semi-auto.
