Fox attacks Camp Verde man, 81, in yard

CAMP VERDE -

An 81-year-old Camp Verde man is undergoing treatment against rabies after being attacked by a fox.

An animal control officer says the man was planting a rose bush in his yard Friday when the animal attacked, biting the man once on the hand and twice on his left arm.

The fox then ran off and wasn't found.
 
One of my deer hunters had a gray fox jump on his back while he was sitting down rattling antlers. He scratched his hand while slapping at the fox and had to have shots just to be on the safe side. He said that the fox probably thought he was a rock, and was just as scared as he, when he moved.
