Looks like the Prescott coyotes need to need to be whacked hard.

Antelope herd in northern Arizona will not be moved

PRESCOTT - A dwindling pronghorn antelope herd will not be relocated, State Game and Fish officials decided.

A panel appointed to study the issue concluded that moving the Willow Lake herd would be more detrimental than leaving the animals alone, said Prescott Field Supervisor Eric Gardner.

The herd was monitored for the past year and despite encroaching development, loss of habitat and coyote attacks, not one of the antelope attempted to leave the area.

Moving the herd, made up mostly of older adults, would cause a higher than normal mortality rate during and after their capture, Gardner said.

At last count the herd consisted of 26 does and 15 bucks. Not a single fawn survived this past year's breeding season.

Gardner said Game and Fish will continue to monitor the herd.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity for some Predator Masters to perform some animal rescue and save this herd from anihilation by the savage coyotes. It's nothing less than performing your civic duty to protect these antelope from extinction by predators. Film it and present it as a public service on the Outdoor Channel. Positive PR spin, que no?

Sounds like it's time somebody did some coyote shooting around those parts. Wish I was closer, I'd be more than happy to help.
