243ai or what? any info will help.any chambering will help. just let me know what you guys would have it done in. its going to be a varmint slash girlfriend deer gun and a lot of paper shooting. just kida builing a gun for the fun of it.

i want to be able to shoot 70-80 grain bullets.

i just cant make up my mind.

i have the barrel. its a hart rem varmint contuor 1-12 twist. 28"

please help!!!!!

You putting it on a long action or short action?

I'd go 243AI on a short action and 6-06 on a long action, if it were mine.

I would build a 8 twist anything so you can shoot a wider variety of bullets, AI's are awesome but hard on barrels. Standard 243 is always a great choice but the 6BR is something to consider it really does everything great.

Well guys. Thanks for the info. I've got a 243ai and a 6 rem. Both in 8 twists.

I have the 12 twist barrel and that's what im building the gun around. I think I'm gonna try the 6x47L. Shooting 60-80 grain bullets.

But any suggestions are great!!!
