I'm planning a week long hunt at one of our ranches out in west texas. The ranch is 30,000ac and i need to kill a lot of yotes and cat off of it. i would like to go around late March are april. what time of the year do you think would be the best?

If I'm seriously trying to eliminate problem coyotes for a landowner, April would be my pick. Otherwise I would wait till late summer early fall.

In April I have lots of success using turkey sounds. That is prime turkey breeding here and the coyotes find distracted turkeys easy pickings.

What area of W.Texas are you in?

Where on the west side of marfa,tx about 15 miles out on hwy 90 between fort Davis and marfa. not many turkey out there mule deer and antelope. the weather should be great Highs around 68-70 lows 38-40 most of the time. i'll be doing a lot of night hunting
