M&P or Olympic Arms

I had this question on my original post asking for advice for a first time AR shopper but the thread took a different direction.... not that I care, its all good info that I need. I thought it would get more specific attention if I pulled my question out to its own thread.

I have located 2 new flat top ARs within my budget(same price down to the dollar actually). The first is an Olympic Arms K16 carbine. I could go buy it and be back home in an hour. The other is a M&P15ORC carbine with a mail in rebate for 5 addition clips. Unfortunately the M&P is 2 hours away and that means giving up a Saturday afternoon deer hunt.
Looks like I am taking a road trip huh?

I have a an earlier version of the K16 and it is a tack driver. The only thing that I would do to it to make it better is maybe flute the barrel to make it less barrel heavy. They are real shooters and can shoot better than I can.
