My results in My area are usually not too productive after a full Moon. But I still go out !

Same here. We still hunt, but we call in 1/10 of the animals that we'd get on the dark of the moon.

I can't use lights so I have to go out on the full moon nights. Last January on the full moon, six of the eight stands produced coyotes. Only able to get 3 into shot gun range but it was very exciting. Tried it again in Feb. with no luck. But I'll keep trying!

They have to feed. My experience is that there's little poing in going out on a full moon night until around 11 PM, even later than that for a waning moon.

why do they wait for daylight when it's like daylight all night?? i've seen waterfowl and dove feed all night on a full moon. i was just wondering if it's just that the dogs can see you alot farther and not come in as clode as a dark night?

I allways thought that maby they might spook at thier own shadow cast by moonlight. Just my theory, Grizz.

Bingo. They can see you a lot better than you can see them on a full moon night. This is one time we eastern hunters have an advantage over those western guys who hunt the coyote-rich open plains. With all these trees, we have plenty of shadows to hide and move around in.

Thats right you can't kill them sitting on the couch but they still are tougher to outsmart during a full moon...For those of all of you who hunt in the middle of a field or walk deep into an area to call.....It's over before it even starts....
If you hunt like this stay home on the couch....

i have shot 1 on a full moon and seen a few more taken on snow in a full moon...our one big money hunt last year was during a full moon..my friends took 3 i was there and seen 2 get taken....use a 2 power or 3 and hunt field coroners..even with a decoy..you will be suprised...here coyotes are a waiting game..if you over call you will be pin pointed from many yards out..hit a howl even a rabbit scream...1 time and wait 30 to 45 minutes..mister yote..will come into range looking for you..thats the way it gotta happen...we cant call coyotes like fox here..if the call runs 2 minutes you have very slight odds of seeing a yote...even a squeaker hit about 10 quick times and sit it out..let them look for you...and be hid well..

Shot last night (full moon) at 11:00 PM, 2nd stand. Had to walk 300 yards through open pasture to get there.

As has been previously said so eloquently, you can't shoot 'em from the couch.

ive never had much luck on full moon nights. i always like going out on real dark nights anyways, easier to see shooting stars. my record is 18 in one night

is that 18 shooting stars or preds..?? rickh2.. do you mean that you need to use a brighter light on a dark night or that your light is brighter on a dark night??

I think Rick means that on darker nights your light will stand out more, thus having more of a chance to spook the coyotes.

I am sure Rick will chime in if I am wrong about that.

Thats Correct.....

On a full moon nights,(No Cloud Cover,or Patches) where you have more light (Natural) when using your spot/rifle scope light, your distance is shortend, by haveing more light at Night, around you while Hunting..

If it were Dark, No Moon Light, your Hunting light beam will Shoot farther, and wider Halo for Hunting.........

Hope this helps...........Good Hunting........
