Anyone here ever make one? Have pics of yours?

Any opinions on the idea for anyone who's done it, etc.

Tossing the idea around of attaching material to my white cover ups and making a ghillie suit from it. They will be taken off anyway in between sits.

Thank You

I don't use a Ghillie in snow. Let me tell you why, snow bunches up and sticks to it real bad making it heavier and heavier as the stands go by. Then you return to the truck and the heater starts melting the snow making it wet and heavier. Just get a good set of snow camo.

those cheap white tyvek suits work well. yo can ussually find them in larger sizes to fir over your regular warm hunting clotes and you blend in great. if you really want to a can of black to make a few camo stripes if you want. just another suggestion

Thanks for the replies.

I guess I will save the work and leave my white coverups white.

Taking on snow doesn't sound like much fun....I hate being wet.

The white Tyvek that Brownie mentioned is a good suit and cheap. The only problem is briars or thick brush that can easily tear them. Otherwise they are great, not to mention light weight.

I got mine through a voc / tech school where I used to work. The teacher kept them for students who were painting cars in Auto Body shop. I purchased them for cost of about $7.00 each.

The make good camo suits if you stay out of the briars and brambles, and will generally last for several calling trips.

Consider getting a couple of sizes larger than you normally wear so they will fit over your heavier clothing.

I agree. A gillie would be fun, but impracticable in the snow. I just use old British military snow camo.

This is in Southern Alberta. Right on the rocky mountains.

...and before that, I used white coveralls over my winter gear.

That's really some open country, Baer. White coveralls work just fine, and I found some pants at Wall Mart that are white that work great too. Whatever works, works.

This is what I currently use.

Wal-Mart Pants and Prairie Ghost top.

Aye, we are right on the prairies coming off the rocky mountains. The best of both worlds!

They could help. You don't need a whole suit just a top, kind of like a poncho. Look at the white one. Like all camo, it has a place.
