22-250 data needed

Hi,
I'd be moore than happy to give you of my basic laods

22-250 Savage 12BVss - 34.5gr vartag x 55gr Sierra BK x Fed GM210 primer x nossler brass = 3680fps

788 Rem, 270-308 Win Imp - 42.5gr Vartag x 130 SST hornady x Fed 210GM primer x Lapur brass = 2850fps

Just one thing, don't use straight up & make sure you tell everybody who might use 'em that they should back off at least 10% in thier rifle.

You cab get hundreds of these types of loads, but each rifleis different and for safety sake needs a different load..

55 Grain Sierra HPBT, 32.6 grains of Benchmark, and Federal 210 primers. This is the best load from my 22-250. I did shoot one 1/4" three shot group with this load, at 100 yards using a 36x scope for load developing.
35.5 grains of Varget with the bullet and primer as above shot extremely well too.

Where did you find that load? That seems like an awful large dose of a very fast burning powder. Have you pressure checked this load? it seems very very dangerous.

Did you mean h 380?

Hey Martyn4802,
Just out of curiosity, what make of rifle did you shoot that group of and was it the original stock on that weapon? I'm working up progressive loads of Sierra 52 Grn HPBT being pushed by RL 15 (32 - 35 grns) with CCI Benchmark Primers for a new Ruger M77 MKII Target Grey. In a way, your success is surprising me a little (a lighter grn load of powder) by what I heard some have said, written and claimed to have experienced. But then again it might also be the distance you were shooting.

This site should give you some great info:

http://www.centerfirecentral.com/

My first try is with Win 760 with both a 50g Sierra Sp and a 55g Sierra Sp, fastest velocity with extreme accuracy will be with 760 in a 22/250 if your rifle will shoot it.

H380, 38g with a 55 is a standard load; killed a lot of yotes with it, but it is much slower than published data.

I have not got varget to shoot in any of my 22 250's or 243's...I have not been able to drink the Varget Kool Aid.

39g of IMR 4350 with the 60g Sierra is a tack driver, more of a deer load than a yote load, drills holes through yotes.

It is kinda of a wierd occurance for me, but for tack driving accuracy, I have had better luck with the 50's than the 55's.

I had one VSSF that shot the 55g Nosler C/T bullet at 3850 with 41.5g of Win 760 and a win primer...could not come close to that load with naked bullets. This load shot 1 " groups at 400 yards when the wind did it's part.

For 20 yrs I used this load and harvested many dogs:
Speer 52 HP - 36.5 of RL15

Now I use this load and it's doing GREAT:
Horn. 55 V Max (moly coated) - 36.5 of H4895

Hi,
I've only been reloading for about three or four years and I find I still have that great struggle between wanting the highest velocity and knowing that you don't scare 'em to death. The most important thing is "you have to hit 'em".

I am with you Ackleyman. I to have had better luck with the 50 grainers in my .22-250s. Either the Sierra 1330 soft points or the 1450 Blitz kings.

My rifle is a custom rifle I had built 25 years ago, on a Mauser 98 action, Douglas Barrel, and a Canjar trigger. I built the stock for it.
My rifle did not like 4064, 4895, 4320, and H-380.
But Benchmark and Varget were a different tune... They shot awesome groups, all with the Sierra 55 gn HPBT bullet.

35g of IMR4895 w/40g vmax, 4000fps 1/2" groups at 100 yards.
35g IMR4895 w/55g vmax 3675fps, 1/2" groups at 100 yards.

Rifle is a Browning Abolt w/22" sporter barrel. Using win brass and win LR primers, 2.490" OAL which is .010" off the lands for the 55g vmax. The 40g vmax were loaded to 2.350".
