243 and powders?

I love seeing everyones favorite loads !! it's really funny how we all come up with something a little differant.

The .243 has been my bread & butter on Yotes for many yrs. I have an old 700 thats been trued and on it's 3rd barrel, 2nd stock, 3rd scope and have replaced the trigger somewhere along the line. (I've shot it tons)

I have always got the 70gr Nos BT's to shoot. Not only shoot but Target grade shoot ! They are by far the best Yote bullet I've ever ran across, and I sell my hides too. I run them about 3550fps behind 48.8gr of H-4831 Extreme using a standard primer. I always seat the bullet out as far as I can. The 4350 seemed to give me too much pressure with the velocity I wanted, and for me anyway that powder is better suited for bigger guns such as the 30 cals.

I might get some feedback on this , SO , please remember guys that I'm in North West Wyoming and all of my hunting is done at 5000' elevation or higher, most of the time I'm at 6 or 7, so our pressures and velocities will differ from out east in the humid thicker air you guys have.

95 grain nosler with 43 grains of H-4831 sc makes tiny groups and kills coyotes, goats and deer really well.FPS with a 26" barrel around 2950 FPS.

You guys that love Varget,4064,and 4350 should really try the new Hogdon 100V, this has proved to be very fast and more accurate in my two 700's than any of the other powders with the 70-80g Bullets...I'm talking very tiny groups.

43.5g of 100V in a Rem case with a Win primer, 80g Sierra Blitz at 3500 fps shoots groups that only my benchrest rifle 6ppc Stole panda and benchrest rifle in 6 BR will shoot. Have shot multiple groups in the high 2's with this load at 200 yards, 3/4" group at 300 yards...Rem 700 sporter mind you.

My standard loads have been with 4064 and 4350, now V100 is showing me groups with sporter rifles along with speed that I never thought possible out of factory rifles.

Savage Model 10 rebarreled with a 10" twist A&B barrel (bought the barrel used for $40.00 and rechambered it from 6mmBR to .243 Win).

55g NBT @ 0.020" off lands, 44.0g IMR4895, Wolf Large Rifle Primer, Lapua Brass.

75g V-Max @ 0.020" off lands, 44.0g H4350, Win brass, Wolf Primer.

95g NBT @ 0.020" off lands, 44.0g IMR7828, Rem Brass, WLR primer.

They all shoot into 1/2 MOA groups.

The loads were developed at different times. I'm a bit surprised the powder weights all came out the same, but they did.
