Aimpoint CompML3 for Coyote Hunting?

Hi Guys,

My main coyote rifle is a Bushmaster Predator with a 3x9 scope.

I also wanted a light weight rifle so I picked up a RRA Entry Tactical and put a Aimpoint Red Dot scope on it. Anyone on here hunt coyotes with a Red Dot scope? I don't have a magnifier, just wondering if anyone has success with an M4 set up.

Thanks

Should be a good enough set up for heavy cover and out to 150+ yds depending on your sight and ability. A magnifier with a twist off mount would help. I've used the aimpoint and other red dot type optics over the years with good success on many critters where shot opportunities were quick.

What size dot does it have?

I've shot a few with with my Comp M2 w/4moa dot. At 100yds, the dot covers about 4". At 150yds, it covers 6" and I would agree and pretty much call that distance about max for hitting a coyote ...

That should work for ya just fine!
Try using clay pigeons for target practice and see how well you can shoot with it. That will help you determine your effective range with your setup...
