i dont know if i posted this here before but i have three beagles that live in the house and ticks/fleas can become a problem from the in/out to run in the feilds/woods
frontline plus is 9.8%fipronil and 8.8%methroprene.the meth is a IGR(inhibits growth regulator)and will help disrupt egg larvae from hatching.
i have found these products--the first is the fipronil at 9.1%--almost the same as what is in frontline
http://www.pestproductsonline.com/products/_20_oz-14-0.html
and i add to it this product
http://www.pestproductsonline.com/products/Precor_IGR_Concentrate-127-272.html
this methroprene is only about 1/7th as potent as whats in the frontline, but i use 1cc of each on a 20lb of body weight.been doing it this season and have enogh to dog my dogs for a long while to come.
for those that like k9 advantage/advantix the active ingredient in that is imacloprid and is 9.8%or close to that the last time i checked
i found this but it is 2 1/2 times stronger so i would just half dose it.

products like bio-spot/freedom 45 etc are Permethrin and they sell ya concentrations of 15-45%.you get six little vials for 12-18 bucks, well i found this---you get a whole quart for the price of a ounce of the same stuff packaged for dogs.

i research these products here before i use them.

my bottle of termidor and precor ran me about 75 bucks with shipping, and i have over 20 ounces of it compared to 80 bucks for 2 months of frontline for my three hounds.
no problems as well as no fleas/ticks
anyone else have any homemade remedies????

here is frontlines results tested on beagle puppies,i havent found where k9 advantage has been tested on dogs

Living here in Ks, plus living in the country, ticks & fleas can often be a big problem. The one thing that I use on my dog has been Sevin tomato dust. It works great & is inexpensive to boot. I usually dust the dog once a month unless it rains, then I dust her again. I've been using this on my dogs for years with great results.
