I have used the victor #3 for a long time but this year i bought a couple doz sleepy creek #3 and the coil springs on the sleepy creek are just as strong as a four coiled victor. The doz sleepys i four coiled are just unbelivable strong i think they might hold anything that steps in them deer included. Just [beeep] for stout traps. I like victors but i think sleepys are built better.

Bridger #2 or #3 coilspring would be my two top choices.

Favorite trap would have alot to do with your target animal. Guessing you are after bobcat or coyote I have had luck with the bridger #3 offset laminated and baseplated. I really like the trap. I will say however that after looking at the MB 550RC i sure would like to give it a try. They are sweet right out of the box. Have never used one but am very impressed I am going to give those a try next time I order traps. They have a little smaller inside jaw spread than the bridger #3 but I feel it is made upfor by the fact there is no dead spot by the dog (tested it myself). For racoon I like a cheap 1.5 i struggle with loosing my coon traps, if not for theft they go downstream when the creek floods. Having said that i I have been replacing my lost 1.5s with dukes less expensive immatation of the little griz. I don't have enough of them to commint yet this year but i like what I here and alot of guys are switching to that style of trap (I guess i'll find out)
