Howling Coyotes

I have a Knight & Hale Coyote Howler, and have only tried it a few times while watching the video, which doesn't explain much about howling.

I know it's a locator call, but when do I use it? Before light, during the day, when I'm calling, before I call?

Please explain this to me.

I like to howl when I first start a calling stand and then wait a couple of minutes and start the distress sounds. The best instructions that I have found on howling are in Randy Andersons video, "Calling Coyotes" His website is www.callingcoyotes.com. Both of his tapes are excellent and loaded with good info. and lots of shots. Hope this helped. Good luck
