223Rem and Win 748, do I need mag primers?

Hi, I've always used Magnum large rifle primers (CCI-250) when using Winchester ball powders (748 & 760) in my large rifle (308, 30-06).
I'm starting reloading the 223 Rem and want to try the Win748 with 52-55 gr bullets, my question is do I need Magnum small rifle primers? The only one I could find at the local shops are CCI-400 'regular' small rifle primers, no CCI-450 or other kind of Magnum Small rifle primers.
Thanks.

Not according to Hornady. All the .223 loads in my manual call for Rem. 7 1/2 (BR) primers. I believe Speer is about the only manual that calls for the Mag. primers with spherical/ball powders.

I load 28gr 748 behind a 50 vmax & I do not use mag primers at all. Never any issues either in 18k rounds shot.

I used Fed 205's, Win, cci 400's, and 7 1/2's. I got very tiny groups with 27.0-28.0g depending on the gun and lot# of powder with the 50g Sierra Blitz, 50g TNT, and 50g NOsler. I always seated the bullets to just kiss the lands.

I reduced the load to 26.5g with the 55g Winchester and it has to be one of my all time fur friendly loads for yotes, about 3050 fps and dumps them hard.

Is that 55g Win the PSP? I saw a bunch at local gunshop, they weren't riced so I didn't get them. They had $19.95/100 on the 64g ones. How do they compare to the Sierra #1365? They seem to be extinct right now, maybe I should grab some PSP?

peace.
