calling in wind??

Here in the Ozarks when it gets windy like that I get down lower along the side hill benches and spur ridge points toward the hollers, out of the wind. I like to keep some elevation above the holler floor. I do not like to try to call coyotes downhill, that seems to give them a vision advantage as they can look down into the cover and spot movement too quickly. I would rather they be coming across the side hill, or, climbing up to get to me. If it is cold I expect critters to be on the sunny side of the ridges and near some thermal cover that would block the wind. I’m not sure of your topography, but what I mentioned works well in hilly timbered terrain.

well put GC , you hit it on the head for hilly stuff like we got on the east side! I usually like my wind less than 10mph but it seems like that dont happen much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
