I cannot for the life of me google an image that shows different measurements on the body of a whitetail. Does anyone have one or know where I could find one. I, am unfortunate to not be able to use a tape measure on one hanging in my barn because the barn has no deer as of yet.

What exactly do you want to know?

Here is "average vital area"

"The average whitetail" http://www.whitetailfanatic.com/html/rc_wds_anatomy.shtml

Quote:
The average whitetail stands between 36 and 40 inches high at the top of the shoulder. Especially big bucks may be 42 inches high. They have a total length of between 60 to 75 inches and an average weight of about 150 pounds.

Quote:
Head and body length is 150 to 200 cm, tail length is 10 to 28 cm, and height at the shoulders is between 80 and 100 cm.

metatarsal

Quote:
the length of the metatarsal gland that is located on the outside of the rear leg between the hock and the hoof. It typically will measure about ¾-inch long in whitetails and about 4 inches long in mule deer. The metatarsal gland of hybrids is intermediate in length, measuring about 2 inches long.

Leave it to Michigan U to measure it out in centimeter.

These 36" shoulder heights are curious. Unless applied to SE swamp whitetail or northern yearlings. Approaching closer to 42" is my best recall. The average 150# seems 25-75# light for a six point or better.

Then you run into one like this and all those averages go out the window
