AR rail question

I bought a set of Yankee Hill machine risrs for my new R-15. They look great, but wont' fit over my rail. They have to go on from the end and be pushed to where I want them. Problem is, they are way to tight. I can probley beat them on, but it will scuff up my rails and take the camo finish off. I've also got a set of Leupold Mark 4 rails on order that I'm going to try as well. Will these be the same? Any ideas..?

I had a problem with them too on a bushmaster upper so I called them and they sent a new set and the went righ on. give them a call. they didn't even want the out of spec ones back.

I think your right. I took some emry cloth to the inside of the risers and they went on with very little persuasion and and little wiggling. It didn't take too much camo finish off either... Anyway, they're on and the sighting height is perfect.

I don't know if I'll use the Leupold rings or not..?? I'll still try them, but the height better be almost exactly the same or it won't be quite as good...
