Hi
My hunting area is more smaller than any hunting area in USA, and any calls are very louder for me.
I would like to know, if I cut the barrel of one stewart PC3 I can obtain less volume and more high pitched calls?
For me the best for the red fox are high pitched calls...

Thanks for all and merry christmas

jorge,
Trimming the length of the barrel will lower the volume and give the sound of a smaller animal because of less echo or "megaphone" effect. I don't think that you will notice much difference in "pitch" or "tone" though.

I doubt that cutting the barrel will lower the volume. You are still cupping the call with your hand. Take the B.B. mini blaster for example, it has a short barrel but its a real screamer. Take any metal reed and blow it and it is very loud.Your best bet is to use less air volume and /or cup the end of the barrel more. By the way, the PC-3 is one of my favorite calls. Good luck
