Who knew that when Richie set this up that he could control the weather? It was PERFECT. Thanks for all your hard work Richie, it was a great time. Very nice to meet everyone and put a face to a name. Looking forward to next year already.

Here, here!!!! Great weather, great camping spot, great friends, and some dang good shooting was had. Great to meet you guys, and ELJ, you're fine operator of the grill!!

Thanks Richie for doing the leg work on this gig. It sure is appreciated.

I too had a great time! Never been to WY that long a had no real wind. The best part for me was story time around the campfire with a bunch of great people!

Thanks Richie for puting this all togather, don't know how you could of made it any better. Thanks ELJ you did fine job with the grill and spoting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Had a 'first' for me up there, this weekend. While on a shooting walk-about with pdbuster and songdog, a lone seagull flew over a fresh shot dogtown, circled a couple times, landed and had breakfast. He was soon joined by 3 buddies. Dangdest thing I ever did see...... I reckon that bein' so far from the sea, the only birds that would teach them Wyoming survival tactics, were the local buzzards....... Thanks again TR, Richie and the gang.

ME TOO!

I had a great time and that is a gross understatement. It's weekends like this that you remember to your final days.

Huntsman22, ELJ and WSD it was a pleasure to meet you and I look forward to many future repeat performances. I think next time around, we Colorado guys need to host.

Hey Huntsman, I told my wife that we talked framing and she couldn't believe there was another old geezer out there that still remembered swinging a rig ax. I assured her you are a lot younger than I.

ELJ, I envy your moving to Casper. I only could hope for something that great. Good luck on your new adventure. Also, thanks for the brats, they were a hit.

WSD, thanks so much for all the hard work you put into this. Your unselfishness was well recognized and much appreciated. I am so glad I was able to talk to Gordon for a few minutes and extend my personal thanks. Never before have I had a police escort to PD hunting grounds and probably won't ever have one again. Its too funny to believe.

To all you "regulars", once again, I cannot say how much I enjoyed our time together.

Hey Furhunter, if I was 25 years younger, single and met her first, you never would have had a chance and its not Constance I'm talking about! Just joking around D-Man, but you have found a real WINNER! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I am very happy that everyone enjoyed themselves. The weather and quantity of targets was superb. The new frienships I made was worth any effort I put into helping pull this off. I could not be happier.

I enjoyed every bit of the trip, especially sitting around the camp fire sharing stories and laughs. You all were a hoot. We need to make every effort to do this every year regardless of the location. I only wish I could have spent much more time with everyone who attended, especially out in the field.

Not only are you people great, but I learned some things too. Furhunter helped open up a whole new world to me and taught me a bunch about the world of re-loading, ballistics, target turrets and everything that goes along with it.

Not only that but I got to meet some excellant shooters. Not all of them were men either. Mrs. Furhunter is scary with a rifle in her hand. You better hold on to her Darby because Alice is a catch.

Pretty cool when a bunch of Strangers can get together like that and forge the bonds of friendship that we did in such a short time. Each and every one of you was a class act and I would share a camp with any of you, any time and any where. Special thanks to NASA for responding to one of my posts and pushing this thing to happen. Sure was glad to see the Florida boys as well.

I also count myself lucky to have a friend like Steve Alger (ELJ) living here in Casper. The guy works magic at the grill.

Man, what a hoot. Thanks to all of you.

I had a great time, despite car problems (puts on his dunce cap) and the [beeep] headache this morning. Watching WSD and "D" wack rats at distances out to 545 yards was a blast.

I don't know what I can add to what has already been said. The weather was made to order. Perfect is an understatement. I have never seen Wyoming so green! WSD went the extra mile by sharing some of his spots with his internet friends. He is amazingly generous, and not just with his shooting spots! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

I can't wait for my 20X glass to get here. The 6X I'm using keeps me from trying my luck on some of those long-rangers like Furhunter did. I was there when they lasered one of his shots at 665 yds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

PDbuster and I spent a fun afternoon teaching the local rat population acrobatics and aerial maneuvers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

As Claimbuster said, it was a perfect matching of people, conditions, and opportunities. Of all the WW's I've attended in the past, this one ranks in the top 3. It couldn't have been much better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

And lastly, I'd like to say to Darby, "Mopar Rules!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We just got in and unpacked, whew its good to be home, its 402 miles to the campsite from my house. Which buy the way was very quite last night. We left it spotless and when we pulled off you couldnt hardly tell it had been used pretty hard for four days. The truck and trailer pulled right thru the gate with no problems, lucky the hard part was getting it in when there was others there to help!!

What a fantastic weekend, it was a pleasure meeting everyone, and to those I already know...nice to see you again /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

WSD
A+ job putting this togather, thanks again!!

NASA
I didnt think I had to use 4WD /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Claimbuster,
Nice to see you again! I have a witnessed shot and carcass for 545 yards...it was just a matter of time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif It was over on the ranch house road, By the way a 545 yard walk in the hot sun thru the valley of death was pretty stinky here and there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gifThere was alot of pd's shot thru there in 3 days!

Alice had a great time, she's lookin forward to the next one. We shot 380 rounds of 221 fireball, and 196 rounds of 223. I have no clue as to how many dogs went down....but I'll tell ya it was a bunch, the hit percentage with the fireballs was really good, but we did burn some ammo in the 223 on the long ones.

Thanks again to all it was great to meet everyone!

Hey Furhunter, that was a long trip for you. It was 301 to my house. It was 2:00 when I pulled onto I-25. Made it home by 6:45.

Unpacked the popup and took it back to the storage yard. Got the rifles out of the truck but have done nothing more. The inside of the truck looks like a sandbox. Need to unload ammo as I have to park at DIA on Wednesday and I'm always hesitant to go out there with 1000 rds. of ammo in the back. Those folks might think I'm a terrorist!

I had hoped the "getting out" was going to be easier for you than the "getting in".

I'll send you a PM on the long shot.

Upon further inspection, I've figured out that I shot 160 .204, 95 22-250, and 250 of my own 17hmr and probably 50 of Don's.

The story tellin' around the camp fire was indeed great fun and entertainment. Our little camp mascott is probably missing us all by now, and the shade and cover that we took with us.

I've started the reloading process this evening. Gotta be prepared for the "next time".

Don let you shoot his 17HMR's? Wow, he's a lot nicer guy than I even thought.

I might add, after a weekend like that, Monday morning was "doubly" hard to deal with!

Hey, I'm short a piece of 204 brass. Anyone find it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Hey Don, I think I've got it. Maybe we can meet somewhere in Wyoming in a few weeks so that I can return it.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Don, I saw your missing empty 204 case. Go to the ranch and when you see the cows just turn down the dirt road, you can't miss it, it's laying right next to the dead prairie dog.

ELJ

Is it brass in color, about 1.850" long and says 204 Ruger on the bottom???

Nope havn't seen it!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Hey ELJ, I think you may have seen my missing piece of 19-223 brass that is easily mistaken for a 204 from a distance. I really think I have Don's missing 204 brass.

I think the only way to resolve this dilemma is for all of us to get out to the ranch again in the near future!
