AR parts in stock @ fair prices

AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/04/13 12:05 PM

I feel like we should come together and post links to websites that have AR parts currently in stock. For example...Lowers, Pmags, uppers, barrels, BCG's, LPK's, ammo and the like. Try not to post anything overpriced or parts that are readily available all over the net. 50 sets of eyes are surely better than 1 and I think it would be nice to get the jump on parts over the masses of panic buyers....

I will go ahead and post it here, but don't hammer me about the price, its not my ammo, not my website, I am just sharing some knowledge. .223 ammo with free shipping you decide if its "reasonable"
Posted by: Mr Potato Head

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/04/13 10:28 PM

I hear you brother. Reasonable has a whole other meaning right now. I guess I should say "available" then anyone can decide if it's reasonable. $900 per K is stiff but I haven't seen it at any price around here. Thanks for the heads up. I never whine about anyone that's trying to be helpful.

In order to keep the thread on topic I have removed my response from here...lets keep this thread going with links posting deals only if possible. With the exception of course to whether or not said item is still (in stock) or (out of stock)

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/05/13 12:06 AM

I guess when I read "fair prices" that to me meant back to the real world prices not jacked up black market drug dealer prices.

I get that "fair" can be a relative term but what gets me is that way and I mean WAAAAAYYYYYY too many people think that its perfectly fine for people to want to charge 3-400% markup on an item. and I guess that is there right as an american to charge what they want. its the stupidity of many people willing to fork out the money without a secodn thought that is the problem. its too bad my grandpa's are no longer around cuz i would sure be interested in hearing what it was like for them in the great depression. if they had to deal with people price gouging, and if they gave in and paid the prices or if they just plain went without.

I have $100 bill they either got what they needed by working hard and making it by hand or they went without. this is something that not many people have had to do in their lifetime, me included. for the most part I have not had to go without but there are time when I choose to do so because the item is simply not worth the price.

If it comes to complete anarchy and civil war im sure there will be plenty of $50 pmags and $3500 ARs laying around just waiting to be picked up. and if not, I have access to enough other firearms to hold out for awhile.

Anyway my point is that one could easily assume that fair prices would me pre-gouging prices. but as said before, if the prices would not be considered "fair" by others the product will just sit there until someone is desperate enough to give their money away.

FYI: im not trying to beat up anyone, Im simply laying down my opinion of what the OP was referring to by "fair", I for one will not be upset if people post links to parts that I would cinsider over priced, I would just not buy those parts. I think a thread for Instock parts from reputable vendors is a great idea!!!

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/05/13 12:48 AM

one way to eliminate the subjective terms would be to have 2 categories of parts. one for parts that cost less than or equal to MSRP and another that has parts costing more that MSRP.

Simple??

well it's the worst I'd seen it. I was around for the 94 ban, elections, ect, ect.

BCG's availalbe here:

http://www.ar-matey.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=0023

I ordered one. Make sure you read the description:

*****We have 200 of these to us on 2/19/2013 and shipping out the same day or shortly after...all previous orders have been delivered (notice the 2-3 week delivery on this item only because of our expected arrival date)******

First Come - First Serve Basis...We will capture funds immediately and not when these ship. We know some will not agree with this method, and that's ok with us...If there are some available on the 19th when they arrive, purchase then...Free Shipping on this item

DPMS - 15 parts in this assembly with 11 improvements. This assembly is made to last and to perform in the worst conditions. will perform "dry" without damage. Staked screws, parkerized exterior with chrome interior for bolt and cam pin. This bolt carrier group is simply amazing.

***NOTE***

There are 42 in stock since the start of this post.

While the intent of the thread is to help us find stuff, I think it really doesn't help much.

I am remind of the picture of throwing a june bug into a pen of chickens. They all rund to grap the bug. Then you throw another one in on the other side of the pen and they all run over there to try and be the first one.

A few chickens end up getting a bug, but most of them just end up running back and forth.

Now days people throw a bug (link) into the pen (internet) and all the chickens (us) chase after it.

No problem with the thread, just an observation. I think it is a good thing and will help a few people out.

I was just thinking about how cell phones and the internet have changed everything. Word travels like wildfire, and if you snooze you loose, and sometimes you are just lucky or not.

Would be nice if you put a maximum on purchases. I have saw alot of sites doing that. Just allows guys that are a little slower, like myself, to have a chance before the hoarders get to them.

We do.....depending on market conditions, retail pricing, availability, and a host of other values. Sometimes the limit is big, and sometimes it's small, but each item and each market timing is different.

If the people werent paying the prices it wouldn't matter. The resellers can only sell what people will buy. You can blame those getting it before you if you want, non the less there is a market for it. IF you dont want to pay the Market prices, then dont, thats fine, but dont be upset because other people will, thats the beauty of capitalism!

I have noticed that all these people that are buying up things and trying to sell them for a quick flip are starting to get stuck holding the bag..

I would imagine, those that are smart are going to get out of the game quickly, they won't make as big of a profit, but they will make something.
In a month or two, i would bet you see the prices in a free fall.

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/21/13 03:34 PM

I have not seen any "catch up" when it comes to ammo or other stuff.

I just game from accademy and they had filled in the space on the shelf where they normally have ammo.

They used to have a full aisle. Now just half. They stocked gun cases where they normally have the .223, .22 and pistol ammo.

Plenty of 223 here not as cheap as it was but available its 22lr and 9mm.

I'm guessing it will be fall before we see any stabilization of prices. At least I hope so. I do hope the speculators get burned.
No 223 or even 22LR around here.

When there's demand, supply eventually catches up regardless of price. It's basic economics. It's happening in a lot of stores. I'll not pay a dime over the regular retail price and the ones who did will regret, including a ton of people here.
It's funny to think something like 22LR will be out of stock forever.

Eventually being the key word. Most of our suppliers and manufacturers we deal with are booked out through 2013, and into 2014 based on full capacity.

Right now the supply lines can't keep up with demand, let alone excess supply to keep it on the shelves.

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/26/13 05:57 PM

I just want to do a simple build, not crazy expensive, for a coyote weapon.. That was the only time I had ever been in that shop. I used the word gouge, not about that particular rifle, just in terms of what is going on in general right now and it struck a nerve with the guy working there. Another customer had come in for a box of 9mm and the price was 65 bucks. The guy was in shock.

Re: AR parts in stock @ fair prices - 02/26/13 06:10 PM

The only think that makes sense of the 22LR craziness is speculation. If so, it should behave like all other bubble markets. It may take a while, but eventually the market will cool off and the bottom will drop out. Just like housing in Las Vegas. And yes, I'd get a charge out of seeing the speculators explaining to their creditors that they ran up a a $12,000 charge on their Visa cards "investing" in 22LR ammo.

That would be a funny meeting to listen in on.

The speculators are everywhere and making investments in things that are moving.. Since the economy is in the tank and stocks for the most part are really floundering, might as well invest in powder and primers, if they are selling at double what they were a month or now two ago.

To be honest, i really don't blame them.. I have a extra 1000 Remington Small Rifle Primer and if someone was going to offer me $75 dollars for them, I will sell them, but otherwise I will hang on to them. Same thing for the Varget powder. I bought plenty back after the last Presidential debate when Obummer said that he wanted to ban guns. I stocked up on thousands of bullets, primers, powder, and filled ammo cans with 22lr. (everything i use) at the low prices. Now if someone really wants it. I can part with some, but I am not pushing it either.

Grabagun in Dallas did me right on lower parts kits.

JSE Surplus has stuff going in and out of stock and generally have good to great prices.

Midway has DPMS Slick side uppers for $86.99. I have never priced them before but is that a fair price?

They have had them in stock for a couple days now.

That price is pretty close to their standard pricing...I don't expect Midway to be gouging on their parts...They tend to appreciate their customers...

I guess you don't realize that people can, and do, just lurk the forums to find out what's available where.

I don't get it when I see guys picking up 3-4 BCGs every time one becomes available. But whatever, let them waste their money, if I need it I'll buy it from them when their credit card bill comes in. Parts like that will not be outlawed anytime soon.
