Is the older style square jaw #2 coilspring trap a good trap for coons mink and fisher and fox if i baseplated and laminate them would you say they were good traps or not for coons

It's a little on the big side 1 1/2 coil or long spring would work much better.

Not all square jaws are created equal Victors are probably the worst then they get better from there. With that said,
Not good for dryland coon, good for fox with strong springs. Decent for mink and coon if on drowning set ups. Probably a little big for fisher but would suffice on short check times.

I have a 24 hour check limit on my traps so it might be a pretty good trap for fisher cause you only get one chance before he leaves

I know the #11 bridger longspring works good on coon i was just wanting the #2 as a backup trap incase i need more traps and if i found a good spot for a blind set for coons and minks

The 2 victor a terrible COON trap. Nice water traps for mink
