I was deer hunting the other night and a very large doe came flying out of the thicket. Thinking that a buck might come behind I was amazed when a cat came charging out right behind the doe. The doe was running down the field with the cat paralleling her. When he turned to intercept her he provided a partial broadside shot which I took at about 70 or 80 yards. Really blew my mind after all the effort I have been puting into trapping one.

I did shoot the cat with a 30-06, same rifle I took a mtn lion with. Fortunatly the bullet never expanded and just drilled through like a steel rod. Cat must be very fragile because I broke the off side shoulder and the bullet never expanded. I hope the picture is visible through the below link.

I still do a lot of calling and my next goal is to call one in. I am also trying live traping this year for the first time. So far one Possum. lol

I do hope shooting the cat with a 30-06 is not cheating. Anyway he is at the Taxidermist now. Also I have posted this on the trapping forum as those guys have been extremly helpful with trapping advice.

I use an array of antivirus software and have not experienced any issues or malware from this site. Should anyone experience any type of malware please advise and I will take down the post.

I have found this to be a very easy to use third party site to post pictures or share. It is unfortunate that this site does not allow drop and drag.

Beautiful cat ! Hope your taxidermist does it justice ! That’s not cheating it was fair game ! Not long ago I saw a video where the bobcat took down an adult mule deer doe and killed it !

Congrats !!

CONGRATS on the bobcat, no cheating detected lol. I could see the picture but prefer to not have to click on a link to see one. IMGUR is free, the BB code will show up in your post.

Thank you! I just reposted using my Google account. This way there should be no issues. I fully understand not wanting to click on links but have not found this site very friendly to the uninformed computer user (me). I wonder how many users a familiar with BBCode, or Bulletin Board Code?

Most likely problems with opening hyperlinks are connected with either the security restrictions of your Internet browser that doesn't allow opening pop-up windows, or with your Flash player plug-in that prevents you from opening URLs in local Flash files.

I can only suggest you try a different browser and make sure your flash player is up to date. All links seem to be working. I just opened them with no issues.
